Before my sewing machine took over my life, I was a special effects makeup artist. I worked on a few movies like Prompocalypse, and did a lot of Halloween makeup. If you’re not easily grossed out, you can check out some of my work here: KillChrissy (WARNING: Some of it is really gross!).
I tried a lot of different brush rolls over the years, and never found anything that worked. The pockets were too long for my short brushes and too skinny for my fat brushes. They didn’t have enough pockets, didn’t roll up easily, and I still can’t believe how hard it was to find something machine washable. So, I made my own. And I’ve made some for you guys too:
These brush rolls have four pockets inside: One for long brushes, two for medium brushes, and one for those little short brushes. They are stiff enough to stand up against the mirror, which is great when you’re working in a small space and have a ton of junk spread around, and they roll up tight enough that your brushes won’t slide out. Plus, they’re machine washable. I like to use the long pocket for dirty brushes so they don’t get mixed up with the clean ones.
There are four of these in the shop here: Makeup Brush Rolls. That zipper pouch in the photo is not in the shop. I have six of these pouches in different fabrics, and I’ll be sending a free one out with each brush roll order until I have no more left.
That’s all for now, Kiddos! Next up: Cross body bags with adjustable straps.
