Musical Charlie Brown Christmas Wallet

January 14, 2010, 5:13 am

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated this blog. That’s mostly because it was so ugly that I could hardly stand to look at it. Now that it doesn’t look like total crap anymore, I’ll be updating on a more regular basis. Anyway, back to the wallet:

This is the first man wallet I’ve ever made. Cuong likes to carry around every piece of paper and plastic he owns, so I tried to give him lots of room. Turn your sound up and watch this video. It plays music!

We had talked about how funny it would be if the wallet played music when he opened it. The plan was to find a musical Christmas card, dissect it, and rig the speaker up inside the wallet. Amazingly, we found a peanuts card at Winn Dixie, which was the first place we looked. In the end, Cuong had to remove his wad of ones to get the music to stop when he closed the wallet. I’m sure some strippers are poorer because of that, but Cuong seems pretty happy with it..

I’m happy with it too. There are things I would have done differently in hindsight, though. Stay tuned for the Mardi Gras redesign. Also, since it would be pretty blatant copyright infringement for me to sell these, I’ll be posting a tutorial on how to do it yourself. Merry Christmas!
