If you sent me an email in the last couple of days, and didn’t get a response, here’s why: My hosting company disabled my mailbox! They said it was due to “inactivity”. I guess receiving and sending 50 emails a day isn’t enough for them. Go figure. I re-enabled my mailbox, but any emails sent while it was down are gone forever. :(
So, please try me again. If nothing else, you’ll be helping me stay “active”. Later, dudes!

I’ve mentioned my aunt, Sharon Zambito, before. She’s a crazy talented cake decorator, who produces instructional dvds and cake decorating classes. If you’re tired of Winn Dixie cakes with “Happy Birtday” scrawled on them in melted gel icing, then you’ll want to check out her dvds. They really are awesome. Here’s a link:

Now back to bags. I’ve put up a special collection of wallets and bags made from cake fabrics for her fans. Check it out in the shop. Here’s a little taste:

Let me introduce you to Jessica. She has been my best friend for 12 years, and has graciously agreed to model my bags. We spent all day Saturday snapping photos on her deck and praying that it wouldn’t rain. She must have changed outfits at least 15 times. Also, Jessica is crazy. Here’s some outtakes:

That last bag is my new hobo design. It has two straps and tie sides. Tomorrow, we’re going to shoot a bunch of new stuff. Wristlets are on the way!

I’ve had a picture of this bag in my mind for months. I even had dreams about sewing it up. I had tried to do similar pleats in cotton, but it was just too flimsy. The bags would go into the washing machine looking perfect and come out a wrinkly scrunched up mess. Last week, I got a piece of bright blue faux suede in the mail, and my dreams came true. It’s the perfect fabric for these soft pleats. I was so happy.
Now, after staring at the bag for a week, I’ve discovered that I don’t really like suede. Even in bright colors, it’s just a little bit too country for me. I want my bags to be rock and roll in the fall and yacht rock in the summer. I’ll make one more of these bags with my last piece of pink suede, and then I’m done. It’s time to buy some leather!
